                                   The noble Sri Padasthanaya is known as the supreme flower of Buddhists.

It is said that Lord Buddha's left foot was established here in the past.Sri Lankans as well as foreigners visit to warship  in  this shrine. Only six months in a year one can worship Sri Pa Pada.During the remaining six months of the year, it is forbidden to go there because it is a very dangerous jungle.Sri Lankan people believe that Sri Padas Padasthan is the site of Lord Saman.

The idol of Dev is only for six months in the courtyard of Sri Pada while the remaining six months the idol is in the Sri Galpottawela Temple of Pelmadulla.
The Sri Pada season begins on the last Poya day of the year, when the idols are enshrined at the Sri Pada by the Perahera.
